 GAFA meetings are held on the first Saturday of each month (except July and August) from 7:00 until 10:00.  They are at the Bloomington
(Living Hope) Lutheran Church at 9350 Portland Ave. South in Bloomington.  Exit I494 at Portland Avenue and go south about 15 blocks
to the church on the west side of the street. In August, we have a picnic on the first weekend of the month. Watch for picnic details.

The typical meeting format is:
  • Language Practice (7:00-8:00): 
An informal session called, Deutsche Sprache, for practice of language skills.
  • Main Program (8:00-9:00): 
Usually features a speaker, but occasionally is pure entertainment. Many of the speakers deal with German or German-American history,
current events, or travel in Germany.  Check the calendar for upcoming events.
  • Social Hour (9:00-10:00):  
A great chance to have coffee and cake, make new friends, visit with old friends, visit with the speaker, etc. This social hour is a very
important part of the GAFA meeting since fellowship is a major objective.
